Objectives:

Demonstration of an electrically connected, vertically emitting, ultra compact m-source (<100um2)
Demonstration of an electrically connected m-source connected to a passive waveguide
Selection of m-source to be used for full optical link of WP6



Microscope pictures of microsource arrays coupled to silicon nanophotonic waveguides before and after metallisation


Spectrum of laser operation. Threshold current was below 1.5mA
